If looking for a simple and effective way of changing the size of a large number of pictures (or just one, for that matter), you may consider trying Fotosizer. This free utility has been built in a way that all users can benefit not only from its resizing and rotation capabilities, but also from the effects and other settings that you can add to the resizing process.
Its batch-resizing capabilities will let you add as many files and folders as needed to the source list, and you can simply resize them straight away or combine any of the various functions provided in one single transformation process. When it comes to resizing, you can input your own custom dimensions or select one of the many presets available. Some of these are but percentages of the original size and standard video sizes, but you will also find a number of useful entries, such as Email, HDTV, iPod Photo, iPhone, or Sony PSP. You can also reverse the image’s orientation, keep or change the aspect ratio, and center the image in the target resolution.
You may also want to add one of the three effects the program offers – namely, black and white, negative, and sepia. You can also rotate and/or flip your images in various angles and orientations, respectively. Finally, you can also reduce the quality and DPI values and thus reduce also the weight of the resulting files. The list of output formats supported is not extensive, but it includes all the most widely used ones – GIF, TIFF, JPG, and PNG. more
